Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other with songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a few fans create a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
